Let the FreeGoodee Good times roll!!!
CATEGORY: Goodee News

Allow me to introduce myself… my name is Ed Schoenberg and I owned an executive search firm in Columbus, Ohio for 20+ years. After retiring in 2001, I became quite the golfer! But, after several years of beaching and golfing, I found the need to be  improving my short game (since everyone knows that’s where the money is won and lost in golf) becoming less and less important in the bigger picture! All my thoughts were being re-directed to how I might be able to leave this world a little better place than when I arrived. After many months of searching craigslist as well as some of the other employment sites regularly, I finally stumbled upon something that truly got me excited… FreeGoodee! The only problem was, the posting was actually for an account executive for a creative advertising agency and marketing firm! In searching within the website for this Ad agency, I ran across a blurb for FreeGoodee and immediately knew this would be my calling! FreeGoodee was just an idea of the owner of House of Hancock, Kerry Hancock Jr., so since his offices were right in my backyard I decided to throw on some work clothes  (most had shrunk during the 8 yrs I took off) and go check out this Kerry Hancock. I was lucky enough to find him in and he had time to speak with me un-announced! Well, after convincing him that I was the right person for the job (account executive for a creative advertising agency) where I had absolutely 0 experience, I decided to throw out why I was really there, to find out more about FreeGoodee! You should have seen his face light up! It turns out that Kerry has been sitting on this idea for about 4 yrs, and he knew in his heart that FreeGoodee was his #1 passion. While owning and running a successful ad agency certainly provided a very comfortable lifestyle for Kerry and his family, he, like me, was more interested in “making a difference” in the world we lived. So, after several additional meetings to discuss details of my employment, we decided to hire additional staff to support House of Hancock so we could focus our energies on launching FreeGoodee and growing it as quickly as possible! So, you might be asking what is this FreeGoodee? Well in a nutshell, FreeGoodee is an online community that enables EVERYONE to do 3 things. You can give free goodies: we believe almost everyone has acquired things that they can now do without, especially if you knew that you’re actually helping a neighbor in need. And for businesses, what better way to guarantee new customers coming through your doors! 2.) you can get free goodies absolutely free (NO strings attached, no surveys, no buy one get one free, etc.) and 3.) we provide a platform for someone in need to post specifically what they need so that other members can contact them directly to help. We firmly believe that most people who experience the joy of giving will be thrilled with the opportunity to help their fellow neighbors directly. So there you have it, this is the first of many blogs about FreeGoodee and you’re hearing about us before we take off, as we know we will. And just so you`re aware, we’ll know we’ve done our jobs as soon as we’re on Oprah!!!

I think you should hire me to go through daily postings and remove the ones that are inappropriate, or to approve them before they are posted. As a member of Freecycle I firmly support your endeavour and would like to work with you if possible. Feel free to email me with any questions or thoughts.
